"Giving back is local when we only think about it; it becomes global when an action takes the place of meager words over-dressed in unfulfilled promises. As a society, whenever we become latent in our actions to purposefully assist the needy and protect our children, we are failing to actualize the idea of truly loving and caring beyond words". --- Tani D. Gray
How it all began...
As a child growing up, I was always encouraged by my parents to develop a passion for traveling the world and giving back to those in need. Before I was able to board a plane, I was already traveling on the "wings of my mind's wildest imagination"; a consequence of the many documentaries and history books that got my attention from an early age.
At the tender age of ten (10), I made a promise to myself that one day, I would have traveled the world and engaged in different cultures while giving back through my talents and services to mankind. To date, I've traveled to a total of twenty-eight (28) countries and still loving it.
Whenever I travel, I try to do so with a purpose. I’m very passionate about traveling but equally passionate about educating and empowering others, especially our children; the most vulnerable among us. Personally, I live by the notion that giving back is "local" when we only think about it; it becomes "global" when an action takes the place of meager words over-dressed in unfulfilled promises.
I have a very positive attitude towards humanitarianism, it “runs in my blood”; an instinctive trait bequeathed to me through genetic means. Humanitarianism is an active belief in the value, worth, and dignity of all human life, whereby human beings provide assistance to those in need through unselfish and sincere service. Sometimes, the only thing our children and other vulnerable populations among us require, is a ray of hope. As a society, whenever we become latent in our actions to purposefully assist the needy and protect our children, we are failing to actualize the idea of truly loving and caring beyond words.
